Mr. Band is a former runner (back surgery on 8/3 and 11/20/02 slowed him down) sailor, tennis player, skier, motorcyclist, and jack of all trades (hobby wise).

To keep looking and feeling young, David Band, before he made it to the ripe old age of 76, belonged to a running club with its roots in a a world wide loose-knit running club: The Hash House Harriers

David Band has a bit of an obsession with digital photography. Click here to see links to hundreds of his photographs.

Following his retirement from the Army Reserve after 25 years of service as a JAG Officer, David Band was appointed by Governor Foster as a member of the Governor’s Veterans Affairs Commission. During his tenure as a Commissioner, he represented AMVETS, traveled around the State and implemented State Policy of protecting the rights of Veterans in the State of Louisiana. – Motorcycles

For an old guy (76), David Band is still able to slide down mountains with a single bound. Click here to see a description of his recent visit Steamboat, Colorado to relax and check on his condo. Actually, skiing dovetails nicely with motorcycles as the balance skills are very similar for higher levels of performance.

Perhaps you have an interest in an old Rolls Royce or Porsche. Rather than purchase expensive brand new automobiles every few years, David Band would rather hang on to an old classic and keep fixing it up. He created a web site for his 1962 Silver Cloud II, Rolls Royce and belonged to the Porsche Club of America. The same applied to his sailboat, a 1982 Islander 30, MK II sloop.  All of these “toys” are now sold as David Band moved on to take less risk with his health and decided to live to a nice ripe old age.
