1962 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud,
the Ultimate in Luxury and Elegance for Your Wedding or Special Event

Attorney David Band once was the collector of a vintage 1962 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II, and before that a 1955 Bentley S-1, and a member of the Rolls Royce Owner’s Club. In addition to practicing law, he used to drive an occasional wedding or prom because there were so few Rolls Royces “proper” enough for a wedding in New Orleans. It used to be if you wanted to add a beautiful, classy touch to your wedding and enjoy the thrill of seeing the “Spirit of Driving Ecstasy” hood ornament precede you throughout the city on a special occasion, you would have called 504-822-2263 to see whether David Band was available to be your driver. A Rolls Royce experience for wedding or other special occasion lives on in photos forever.  Look here for a  video showing a sample of what it’s like to ride in a Silver Cloud II:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQHZ2eLM7gI  .  Include a Rolls Royce in your wedding plans. There’s just something, “Je ne sais quoi,” about riding to the church with your Dad, and leaving the church with your new husband.

Rates were $325 per hour with a 2 hour minimum but the car is gone now, sold to a successor classy guy. That typically covered picking up the bride and her father where she dressed (home or hotel), a ride to the church, one hour wait in front of the church, and then a ride for the bride and groom from the church to the reception. For an additional charge, the car waited at the reception until the party was over and the wedding crowd came out to send the bride and groom off to their hotel. Photographers love to capture the arrival at the church and the newly married couple getting into the Rolls Royce after the marriage ceremony to a toast of champagne. In order to preserve the mileage of such a classic car, we did not drive weddings outside of New Orleans, although David Band still has numerous friends in the RROC to whom he may refer you if you need a Rolls for your special occasion.
